The New Book of Stefano

Maji Dada - Sorella Acqua – Sister Water

In 2015, I left the West without truly knowing what I was searching for. After a few days, I arrived in Mkuru, a Maasai village in northern Tanzania. I didn’t know it yet, but I was coming home.
Over the next ten years, I returned nine times. People became family. Faces changed, children grew, and wrinkles began to tell the story of time. With Philipo, a friendship was born that turned into concrete action: the village’s first water distribution system, a vegetable garden, and two solar-powered wells. Water reached places where there had once only been waiting.
Sister Water is the story of a deep bond between cultures that are distant, yet unexpectedly close. It is a story of trust, responsibility, and mutual transformation.
It is a journey into what truly matters.

"Inspired By The People:

Eight years of photography around the world, told through over 600 shots, showcasing Stefano’s vision of the beauty found in the everyday lives of people with diverse customs and traditions. Stefano captures the simplicity of ethnic groups rooted in ancestral traditions, while also addressing important contemporary issues—such as water scarcity experienced by the Maasai people, which inspired support projects, and the revolution in Myanmar.
